“Poolside”  2017

Skateboarding was a big part of growing up and well into adulthood.  A friend of mine Ray Stevens invited me to join a group of artists to show at a venue he was performing at.  With the likes of Zarosh Eggleston, Mike Crabtree, Jimbo Phillips, Scotty Greathouse, Joe Fenton and Taylor Reinhold we all had one or two pieces up on the wall of The Sand Bar in Capitola, CA.  Being that everyone there has some part in the skateboarding world I decided to incorporate the #131Robot into it.  Skating pools is one of the funnest parts of skateboarding and I suppose this piece is just a snapshot of the sidelines at a pool session.

“BBQ”  2014

So for about 10 yrs. or so we would BBQ for all the employees, clients and friends that came around or worked on Fridays at Broprints.  It was always a nice way to start off the weekend, a good time to pick up your order or just swing by and have some food and a cold beer.  We would start doing Broprint logos that had BBQ themes and even changed our company sign that had a BBQ on it.  Kind of misleading for a printshop but it was fun and worth it.  I decided to make a design with the #131Robots BBQing some “bolt burgers”.  This actually ended up on the countertop in the shop’s break room kitchen.  One of the beauties of printing the tiles is I usually do an edition of anywhere from 3-5 to make sure at least one good set comes out.  Usually they all come out somewhat useable so you can frame one or two up and set one if need be.
